A Hollywood Smile is not a single product but a complete smile-design plan. Porcelain laminate veneers are ultra-thin shells bonded to the front of the teeth and require minimal reshaping; zirconium crowns cover the whole tooth and are used when a tooth is heavily worn, broken or root-canal treated. Your dentist combines whichever options suit each tooth — together with whitening or gum contouring where needed — so the final result looks balanced across the entire smile.

It depends on the material. Porcelain laminate veneers need only a very thin layer of enamel removed — sometimes almost none — while crowns require more reshaping. Because some enamel is permanently reduced, the treatment is generally considered non-reversible, which is exactly why a careful digital smile analysis and a clear plan are agreed before any work begins.

The procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during treatment. Some patients notice mild sensitivity to hot or cold for a few days afterwards, which is temporary and easily managed with simple aftercare and, if needed, over-the-counter pain relief.

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, porcelain laminate veneers and zirconium crowns typically last around ten to fifteen years, and often longer. Their lifespan depends mainly on daily care, gum health and avoiding habits such as biting hard objects or grinding your teeth.

You care for them just like natural teeth: brushing twice a day, flossing and regular dental visits. High-quality porcelain and zirconium are highly resistant to staining and do not discolour the way natural enamel does, though good habits keep the surrounding gums and teeth healthy and the overall smile bright.

In many cases of mild crowding, gaps or slightly rotated teeth, veneers and crowns can create a straight, even appearance without orthodontics. For more significant misalignment your dentist may recommend orthodontic treatment first, or a combined plan, so the final result is both aesthetic and healthy.

Modern veneers and crowns are strong, but in the rare event that one chips or debonds, a single unit can usually be repaired or replaced without redoing the whole smile. Avoiding very hard foods and wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth greatly reduces this risk.

Good candidates are adults with healthy gums and sufficient tooth structure who want to improve discoloration, staining, gaps, worn or asymmetrical teeth. Any active issues such as decay or gum disease are treated first.
