Graft Harvesting
Hair follicles are carefully extracted from the donor area at the back of the scalp using a specialised micromotor. Since the donor area naturally contains a mixture of single-, double- and multi-hair follicular units, the extracted grafts are meticulously sorted under magnification. During this microscopic graft-sorting process, single-hair follicles are separated and selected for implantation, as they provide the soft, delicate and natural-looking appearance required for eyebrow transplantation.

DHI Implantation
The DHI method is preferred for eyebrows: using special Choi pens, the channel is opened and the follicle implanted in one motion. This gives precise control over the very shallow angle and direction each brow hair needs to lie flat and grow naturally.

What is the Post-Eyebrow Transplantation Process Like?
The first day after the procedure, mild redness and sensitivity are normal. Within two weeks, mild scabbing occurs in the area and falls off. During the same period, the transplanted hairs may temporarily shed; this process is called shock loss.
From the third month onward, new eyebrows begin to grow. It takes approximately 9 to 12 months for the eyebrows to fully settle and achieve a natural appearance. Since eyebrow transplantation uses fewer grafts compared to hair transplantation, the recovery process is much faster and more comfortable.
Which Method Should Be Used for Eyebrow Transplantation?
For eyebrow transplantation, both the DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) and Sapphire FUE techniques can be used, depending on the patient’s eyebrow condition, donor characteristics and the desired aesthetic outcome.
The DHI method uses specialised Choi implanter pens, allowing each graft to be implanted immediately after placement in a single step. This provides excellent control over angle, direction and depth — particularly useful for the very fine, hair-by-hair alignment required for natural-looking eyebrows.
The Sapphire FUE technique, on the other hand, involves first creating recipient channels with sapphire blades before placing the grafts, letting the surgeon carefully design the overall shape, symmetry and density distribution of the eyebrow area with high precision.
In practice, both techniques are effective: DHI is often preferred for its direct control of hair direction at a micro level, while Sapphire FUE can be advantageous for structured design and precise planning of the eyebrow framework.
