Estecapelli Hair Transplant Aftercare – Things To Do And Points To Consider
The Following Items Are Recommendations Prepared According To Estecapelli’s Hair Transplant Protocols That Accelerate The Healing Process And Ensure Maximum Success Of The Results. THE FIRST 24 HOURS AFTER THE OPERATION
Mild Pain, Itching, And Edema Are Normal
Such complaints can be controlled with the ice application, lotions, or mild medications we recommend.
Pay Attention To Your Sleeping Position
For the first 3 nights, you should sleep on your back at a 45-degree angle. Sleeping face down is strictly prohibited. You should use the sleep pillow we provided.
Do Not Touch The Transplanted Area
The area is sensitive. Scratching, rubbing, or touching may cause graft loss.
There Will Be A Bandage On Your Donor Area
The bandage should not be removed on the first night and protects the area from impact.
Be Sure To Use Your Headband
You must wear the headband immediately after the operation to prevent swelling. This band prevents edema from spreading to the facial area.
Hair Transplant Post-Operative Process
DAY 1 – DRESSING AND FIRST WASH
- Clinical check-up is performed
The bandage in the donor area is removed and the first dressing is applied.
- The first wash is performed by Estecapelli specialists
You are taught the correct washing method using your special lotion and shampoo. These products:
- Reduce crusting
- Accelerate scalp healing
- Protect the grafts
DAYS 2–7
- Regular washing is very important
Washing should be done gently every day using the method shown to you.
- Itching may start – this is normal
Please do not scratch the transplanted area. Itching is part of the healing process.
- Avoid physical activities
Heavy exercise, sweating, sauna, and hammam are prohibited.
- Do not consume alcohol or cigarettes
They should be avoided for at least 7 days; they affect blood circulation and delay healing.
DAY 7
- Your hair starts to strengthen
However, since they are still sensitive, contact and impact should be avoided.
- Avoid any impact to your head – this is critical
The most common cause of graft loss occurs during this period.
DAYS 9–12
- Crusts start to completely fall off
The crust shedding process is completed between days 9–12.
After this period, the person can comfortably return to social life.
DAY 30 – SHOCK LOSS PHASE
- 70–80% of transplanted hair falls out – THIS IS NORMAL
"Shock loss" is the most natural stage of a hair transplant.
This shedding does not mean the grafts are lost; hair follicles are preparing internally to produce new hair.
MONTHS 2–4
- New hair starts to grow
Initially, it may be weak and thin. This is completely normal.
- Hair mesotherapy and PRP may be recommended
During this period, supportive treatments accelerate hair growth.
4–12 MONTHS
- Hair becomes stronger and denser
You will see more noticeable growth each month.
- The donor area fully heals
You can shave and use hair styling products.
12–18 MONTHS – FINAL RESULTS
The final result of hair transplantation is starting to become apparent. By the end of this period:
- The hairline settles
- Density increases
- Tissues heal completely
- Almost 100% of the result becomes visible
- A more natural, denser, and stronger look is achieved
- It's the ideal time to take photos.
